News 3 CCMA Nominations and More!July 29, 2010 Their music video director, Stephano Barberis is also nominated for Video Director of the Year, for his many videos this past year, including The Higgins' "Free Like Love". The group is eagerly looking forward to participating in the 2010 CCMAs, to be held in Edmonton. "We're very excited!" says Eileen. "To be recognized nationally is always an INCREDIBLE feeling, and an honour. Thank you to everyone who voted for us in the nomination ballots!" The awards program will be televised on CBC, Sunday, September 12 at 7 p.m. BCCMA Guitar PullJuly 5, 2010 The event will be headlined by Victoria Banks, Described by Nashville's Music Row Magazine as one of "the best songwriters in the business," Victoria made Billboard chart history by co-writing the highest new artist debut song ever released, Jessica Simpson's "Come on Over." Also includes: In addition to forming one third of the multiple award winning group bearing his last name, John Higgins is a rising star in his own right. His role with the group is many faceted, from co-writing, arranging and playing on their recorded material, to helping organize the group's tech needs on the road. He's contributed in a large way to Dreamers Like Us, The Higgins new CD on Open Road, co-writing two tracks and playing a multitude of guitar parts. John has recently branched out to lend his talents to other projects, including being Kelly Brock's duet partner on her new nationally charted single 'More Than Words.' He also co-wrote one of the songs on Jaydee Bixby's new CD. John has been twice nominated for BCCMA Guitar Player of The Year, and is addicted to all things with strings!

The concert will include performances from artists and bands that Mike Norman has played with over the years including Chilliwack, Aaron Pritchett, One More Girl, The Higgins, Rick Tippe, The Lyin' Bastards, David Wills, David Gogo, Jim Byrnes, Shaun Verreault, Dr Strangelove and a few surprise guests! The evening will be hosted by Mike's good friend, local funnyman, Will Davis. All dollars raised will go towards the BC Cancer Foundation in Surrey, BC where Mike received excellent care during his treatments. Announcement! The Higgins and Arkadia Pictures are looking for volunteer extras to be in The Higgins' next music video which will be airing on CMT and various other media outlets. They are looking for males and females between the ages of 14-32 for a large group scene to watch and cheer as The Higgins perform their hit new song. Please send a photo to the Producer, Alex Galanis at alex@arkadiapictures.com. Only those selected for the video will be contacted. The non-union music video will be shot in the Lower Mainland (Vancouver, BC) on Tuesday, January 12th, 2010 and will require approximately 5 hours of your time. The scene will begin in late afternoon or early evening. Specific details of this portion of the shoot are still being finalized, but if selected you will be notified with all relevant information. To Perform at Craven Country Jamboree 2010 Craven Country Jamboree organizers took another step towards completing the roster of acts for the 2010 festival by adding Emerson Drive, the Oak Ridge Boys and The Higgins to the lineup. The 2010 festival, which is scheduled for July 15 - 18, will feature Kenny Chesney (Sunday night headliner), McBride (Saturday night headliner), Jason Aldean (Friday night headliner), Miranda Lambert, Kevin Costner & Modern West, Charley Pride, Diamond Rio, and many more. jumped 3 spots to #16 on the Chevy Cross Canada Countdown chart. "Free
Like Love" is The Higgins' fourth music video produced by Arkadia
Pictures and directed by Stephano Barberis, one of the premiere music
video directors in Canada. "Free Like Love" is also the fourth
video from The Higgins to hit the CMT Canada charts.
The
Higgins are excited to announce that they are one of 5 more artists added
to complete the official Dauphin Countryfest 2010 lineup! The Higgins
will join Friday's lineup of Brooks & Dunn, Gord Bamford, Shane Yellowbird,
and more. The Higgins are set to perform on the Main Stage and Hilltop
Stage on Friday, July 3rd, 2010.
